PHIL G

Audio Engineer | Producer | Drummer

Philson George Jr. Aka Phil G was born in Bronxville, New York. He began his music career at the tender age of 2. He made music from practically any and everything including his mom’s pots, pans, spoons and even chairs. On any given Sunday he would be by the drummers at Mt. Bethel Pentecostal Church and Faith Redeeming Church, learning and observing, and couldn’t wait for them to step off the drums, so he could have his moment.

In the early 1990s he truly grew, as he played with his father at New Covenant Christian Church during worship. He matured and grew endlessly as a musician at that church, learning how to keep in pocket and tempo. It was before his teen years that he began taking piano and drum lessons; which he admits, attributed towards his marked improvement and growth as a musician. Not wanting to miss a beat, he continued his musical career into high school where he blossomed into a magnificent player, playing for both the Peekskill HS and Jazz bands.

Phil attended a summer program at the Berklee College of Music There, his skills and techniques magnified as he embraced each course, enabling him to become a more discipline player. He became a soul pocket drummer in every way!

After Berklee, in 2008 his adventure began with WordaboveWater (Christian alternative band). Soon after, he began working with No Detours (Hip Hop alternative Band). With them, he co-produced on the LP (Dreams Never Die) and did a mini tour at the Make Music Festival in Harlem, Blue Note in Brooklyn, and Taormina in Peekskill, New York. Doors began opening to work with many different artists. Phil’s brainchild, Eclectic Paradise was birthed in 2007.  The brand blossomed and joined with record label (Breakn Bread Muzik). As Musical Director for the label, he performed &  sold out shows at 12 Grapes, The Hudson Room and  other venues. Also performed at the New Year’s Ball Drop in Peekskill in 2015.

In 2019, Phil decided to extend his career as an Audio Engineer. Taking his education to F.I.R.S.T. Institute in Orlando Florida. Within a year, he has gained experience in sound design, recording, live sound, show production, added more artillery to his production, mixing and mastering, and many more. August 2020 Phil was certified as Recording Engineer and Show Producer.  Right after Phil gained exposure using his tools to consult and become A/V Tech 1 in charge of the media team at HORAC Ministries. He also continued to work on his production and engineering skills with artist Clayton Bryant (Grammy/ASCAP award winning). They released a record together called Without You in 2021.

Phil G has performed with Ray Blue, Vincent Corozine, Hiram Garcia, Donald Walters (Pewee), Kwame Binea, Glacia Robertson, Richie Goods, Ernest Billups, Junior Polo, Clayton Bryant and many more.  Phil G has received a few awards from the community for his services. He is  endorsed with Soultone Cymbals and Regal Tip.
